These things only ever become apparent when something goes wrong, Ecca (and Amanda).
Whatever anyone thinks they "know" about the seating plan, they are in fact working on assumption and assumption only, because the seats simply were not numbered.
As it happens, there have
always been similar problems at Lakeside, since the seats are not numbered there either. What tended to happen was that the first arrivers would take the (better) seats facing the stage and those of us who are not in the habit of sitting expectantly in a seat for an hour before curtain up generally got the seats where you get a crick in your neck trying to see the show. Either that or you had to rotate the chair through 180 degrees and ignore your friends at the table.
I have great sympathy for Mark and his wife and I did temporarily reserve some spaces at the stage end of table 13 for them (they weren't suitable for other reasons). In my opinion, we owe them one and life's definitely too short to fall out over stuff like this.
