I suppose his main worry is that somebody might pick it up and play it for a change.

What is wrong with owning a guitar or any object for its aesthetic beauty alone? As I happens I play my Strat a lot but still like to have it on show in my house for my own satisfaction. Some people buy expensive guitars & keep them in vaults. I see nothing wrong with this if that is what they want to do. If I want to sit in a chair & feast my eyes on my Strat....Ain't nobody's business if I do.

It's a shame that some people on here have the piss taken out of then for their views and ideals.......I hope they get their guitar dropped by somebody else touching it one day..........Happy Days :D

At this moment in time, I have eight guitars on display around my home, all of which are handy for anyone to pick up at any time. Amongst those are a couple of home made ones but also a Martin acoustic, USA DeluxeStrat, Jazzmaster, my old Strat and a couple of Gibsons'. The people that come here are good considerable and sensible people, family and friends as well as our five year old grandson. Never have I had to say to any of them 'please don't touch' , they all know that this is how I earn my living - it's about commanding respect in the right way. Enough said. 8-)

I think the only point made here is that, if you have guests coming and you don't want your guitar touched, it will be prudent not to leave your guitar on a stand in the living room. It is likely to be picked up. No one wants his guitar dropped. What an ugly wish.

Yes it is an ugly wish, I can only begin to imagine what kind of nice considerate person would wish that on someone. :|

It's getting personal. Not the kind of post to expect from a moderator.

I guess "What we've got here is failure to communicate" (spoken in an american accent)
