Hi Abel, thanks so much for the good words! That concert was truly the hilight of my life! We also did FBI right at the end with Jet kicking up his legs much to the delight of the crowd!! You can see that video too if you follow the others after Sleepwalk, it's very tiny for some reason but the sound is pretty good. I chose to play the '61 version that the Shadows played in South Africa on 'The Shadows at the Colleseum'
I remember well the amazing version you played at Shadowmania in '06 when Jet jumped up and announced 'This is how FBI will be played from now on!' I'm sure Kitty has a copy of your performance.
Anyway Abel I really hope that what I wrote about my amp will be of use to you. Regardless of what some will say, this is truly a very good amp. You can create that old 60's crunch by setting the master and volumes to suit, just experiment.
Don't forget to leave the stand by on at all times!
Cheers Charles

I bought a new CC2X about 2 years ago, it looks the same as yours Abel (apart from the speakers). I use the amp a couple of times a week for about 2 hours a time on average, and, having read the posts here and elsewhere I have always left the standby switch on and just used the power switch. Guess what, a couple of weeks ago the rectifier valve blew.

I suppose I may have switched the amp off and on again fairly quickly, occasionally over the 2 years, but not the time when it blew the valve. Maybe 2 years is a reasonable life span for the (Russian) GZ34 that was in it?

Anyway, I have now replaced the valve, and it's working ok. So I'm now following the recommended procedure from the Vox manual and using the standby switch as directed. I'll report on how it goes.
Good luck Abel.
