Given the popularity of Nivram since its exposure in 1961 and Hank's contact with Ike Isaacs in his youth I am curious that the gestation of Django's Castle has been so long.

Not a problem Bernie.

I think Hank loves both his styles of music and as the interview suggests...he has left the door open for more work with his Fender and TVS3 echo unit.
His recent performance here in Perth with Cliff was a smash and he looked like he really enjoyed playing his old stuff.

He and his band are getting packed out audiences at recent concerts and the new CD will be out shortly at http://www.cdbaby.com

Cheers

For the UK at least, that page currently displays the message: available for download only.

Hello Spike,
Thank you for posting the Hank Marvin interview. I really enjoyed listening to it - especially when Hank mentioned a possible tour to New Zealand.
I must watch out for concert information.
Cheers,
JB

Hi Guys

Thanks for your comments.

For those chasing a CD and cover, I believe CD Baby will have the CD's made available soon...not sure when exactly.

Hi,

I agree with stuart's comment here:

" However, what Hank brings to the table is a wonderful feel and TONE,just like he did on the Strat. He has a brilliant finger vibrato and melodious feel on his Gypsy soloes that some of the others do not,but without the OVERFRENETIC playing of some manouche players that drift in and out of the melody ,sometimes throwing themselves off cliff's musically speaking and at the expense of tasteful feel. Listen to COQUETTE and NOTO SWING by Hank on the 'STARS OF GYPSY SWING' album and his tone and feel shine right up there with Lollo Meier and Jorgenson!! Also relisten his Gypsy/Latin version of Windmills of your Mind and the amazing soloes, every note having its rightful place but with some amazing speed playing"

Hank' sound and playing are unique even in gypsy style.

Regards
Pierre

Slipping under the radar a bit has been Hank's comment that he is doing a track for 'Brian's John Barry tribute'. I thought that was Warren's baby (?) but anyway I wonder what it could be - my bet's on Dances With Wolves where a nine minute suite of the best themes from that movie would be terrific.

Is there any news about a CD issue yet? Or will the release depend on how many times the album has been downloaded?
