Quo show

Postby drakula63 » 11 Nov 2013, 17:45

There was a great documentary on Status Quo on Saturday evening, BBC2.

Whilst the Shadows themselves did not appear, it was stated that the first thing the (nascent) initial variant of the band performed live in public was The Savage. Cliff was also interviewed and, amongst other things, stated that Quo knew what it was like to sell more records in a day than most artists sell in a week today! Or words to that effect!

good documentary, keith weller who was in it lived in stanley road woking, and the working mans club he and rick parfit refered to was just round the corner from his house. woking working mans club. which was where i first learnt the art of drinking properly, (light and bitter under 2 shillings a pint). there were a few lockins then not like today all pc. and saturday night they had some really good bands on.
i saw rick there a few times and have to confess i never thought he and quo would last the test of time, but they did and good luck to them and a great band in the true sense.
