Seeing the interest in the other thread about the 2 I's coffee bar I thought you would like to see this photo.
The late Ade Bartholomew presenting Bruce with a part of the wall and a couple of old sixpenny bits that Bruce got for selling Orange Juice when he was not playing in the 2I's !
This photo was taken on the balcony at Bruce's home.....

Havent logged in lately so am just catching up with posts on here!(Been busy trying to find a new home for a bus!!!No, not a red double decker before anyone asks!!!)

Naturally I remember the occassion very well, & the photo was indeed taken by myself. I still have other smaller bits of that wall from the 2i's, in a container. Ade picked out the 2 biggest & best bits to mount on the plack for Bruce.

I was pleased to read in the other thread that the other plack has been put back up for all to see.

In the early 90's, when the premises in Old Compton Street was being gutted out to turn it into a Big Easy eatery, Ade & I were fortunate enough to meet up with Bruce & go into the premises & see the wall for ourselves. This was when Ade collected some of the artwork which had already fallen to the floor due to the renovations. The interior looked like a building site but we were still able to carefully pick our way through the rubble down the steps to the basement with Bruce giving us a "guided tour" with commentary!! Magic times!!! :D

Thank you Derek for posting this photo, happy memories.
