Can anyone recommend a d/loader please? The ones I've looked at all want to load something other as well as the application --such as allowing Ask to be my default browser which I don't accept then it says sorry buddy no dice. A commercial paid for programme is no problem.

I am using RealPlayer since ages. When installing you can tick off all extras so that you don't get bothered with anything apart sometimes a reminder that a new version of RealPlayer is available.
For me an advantage is that you can extract the audio track only by converting the download into a mp3 file. This is an option in the download menu.

A really easy way to download video is by using the Mozilla Firefox browser for downloading purposes.

It has a download facility which works on almost all video available anywhere on the web.

The button is on the top right corner and brings up a selection box of file types and the facility to specify the location of the download.

This download facility is called "DownloadHelper", i's a free plugin for Firefox. It works generally very well, but in a few cases it seems that there is some kind of protection which prevents it to work.
In this case I use Replay Media Catcher 5 (not a free software).

Thanks for your replies. Much appreciated.

Replay Media Catcher is maybe the one I'll go for. Been looking for a commercial programme for ages.

Again Thanks

Hi all

As an alternative you might try the freely-downloadable "Freemake Video Downloader".

After you have downloaded and installed the program you right-click on the YouTube picture as it plays then click on "copy URL".

Then open "Freemake........" and click "paste URL" and that's it, apart from selecting the format - I use MP4.

If a format other than those provided is required you can download "Freemake Video Converter" which will convert virtually anything to anything.

Hope this helps

Graham
