Taking into account the ticket price and travel costs for anyone outwith the London area, it is rather expensive I.MH.O.
Certainly outwith my annual music budget these days, and not a fan of Central London anymore!!!

This is just to tour Abbey Road, right? Not to make an album there?!

It's not a tour. It's a series of talks in Studio 2, demonstrating vintage EMI equipment that was used in the studio, and time to have a look around and take photos.

Martcaster Sr. and I shall be there.

I recorded in Studio 2 way back in the early 60's after our group won a competition (judged by the infamous Jimmy Saville). I will never forget the day we went down to St. John's Wood EMI to record. The Swinging Blue Jeans came into the studios and asked if they could use the studio for a short while during a break. We went up to the cafe and met Manfred Mann and all the lads. It will remain with me forever as the sound engineer said to me "You're standing where John Lennon stands when the Beatles come into record".
I have checked with the archive and they have a record of the visit!!
Pity nothing came of it but you can't take the memories away!

Did this a couple of years ago. It's slightly Beatle-heavy but Cliff/Shads and Johnny Kidd all get mentions and discussion iirc.
As a Fab fan, sitting in studio 2 when they played Twist and Shout over the speakers on the studio floor was truly awesome.
They also got volunteers to play the end chord of Day In The Life which sounded just like the record because it's the same keyboards in the same room.
It's also nice to get a close-up look at the vintage equipment. I would recommend a visit while you can even though it's expensive. It was a great day out.
