Attaching photos....

Can someone please advise me as to the procedure for attaching photos to posts, or point me in the direction of a previous post/thread that outlined the method?

I'm sure that in the past I knew how to do it, but can't for the life of me remember. I haven't played guitar or posted anything on forums for about the last three years. I now also find it difficult to remember how to play the selection of tunes that I was quite familiar with, those three short years ago.

Hopefully, turning 65 this January doesn't have any significant bearing on this and my guitar-things-related memory will recover!

Certainly hope so.......

Stephen.

No problem, Stephen.

When you're writing a post, look below the writing area and you'll see a tab labelled 'Options'.

To the right of it, is 'Upload Attachment". Click that

... then follow the instructions to retrieve the photo from your computer.

Much appreciated.

You need to check on the picture resolution/ size. Too big and you can't upload

Another way to do it is not to bother uploading a picture, but simply to reference it using tags.

See the button above, marked "Img"?

Click it, and you get a set (a pair) of tags which will be invisible on the screen (when posted).

If you create a pair of tags by pressing that button and then insert between them the URL of any photo on the internet, that picture will appear in your post.

Let's see... how about a picture of the Colosseum / Colosseo?

<Google an image of the monument and select the first one, copying its URL by right clicking it and selecting the ..."Copy image URL" option>

Then create the tags, and paste the URL between them...

How's that? No uploading necessary. The only snag is that your picture has to be already on the internet somewhere.

What you've done there is tag the URL as a URL (using the URL button).

If you use the "Img" button for the tags, it looks like this:
