Today, it is exactly 36 years ago that the world of music, but especially the world of The Shadows lost a truly wonderful, talented musician. I still sometimes wonder, how The Shadows' carreer would have developed if John would have been part again of the line-up. I thought it to be appropriate to remember.

Thanks for this timely reminder...

A great talent and much missed by "Burns era" aficionados...

A real tragedy.

Having read Arpeggio's book, I feel more illuminated regarding many aspects of John's life and character. It also seems more likely that he died as the result of a tragic accident rather than suicide. Either way, a great loss to so many people. He will not be forgotten.

Chris.

John was one of the nicest people I ever met. His death was a great loss to many and we never got to fully appreciate his remakable songwriting ability.

RIP

Good evening to all,

Yes, John was a wonderful player and he played on some of my favourite Shadows' albums. I love the albums of the Burns period . I'll never forget the happiness I had when I received the first Shadows album I ordered: "Dance with The Shadows".
I'll never forget John.
