I miss Jet Harris...

Celebrating the music of The Shadows and keeping the flame alight here, and when we play at home or in the clubs around the country is splendid. But sitting alone last night, just musing, it struck me that there's a a big empty space that Jet used to fill with humour, irony, memories and music...
Not forgotten...

Still playing his CDs and remembering his jokes, looking down on his home when on hols in Isle Of Wight - unforgettable!
example - " Found out last week - I was dyslexic - went to a toga party dressed as a goat!"

I know exactly how you feel David, it's something that will live with me forever the morning you called me and asked me to announce to the world that he had died. I was shattered by the news as it wasn't expected, then it was not until 5pm that it was confirmed by the BBC news. It was a strange feeling until then, not wanting to have made a major gaffe if it wasn't true, but wishing all the time that it wasn't. His memory lives on here every day. Also for me, his passing was one of the things that finished Shadowmania.

We will be remembering Jet in Verden next weekend when Brian Locking and myself play HERE I STAND. That is so emotional and immediately after that it is my show with the Five Countries band. I may need a moment. We may of lost Jet but he will never be forgotten.
