Concert videos/DVDs

Hello everyone

People have kindly listed Shads albums and Cliff and Shads albums - but what about concert vids and dvd's?

I loved the 2009 reunion and dvd as it gave me a chance to see how they locked together as a band. Previous reunion shows weren't so extensive as far as I can see - this show really seemed to be their best :) you could see hank's amazing solos on the cliff tracks alongside his lead playing on Shads numbers. Bruce's contribution was clear too - an essential part of the sound. When you consider how many dongs they wrote too - you realised what an unbearable band they were. Brian was amazing too. Better than the beatles :)

But is there a vid of a full set from the 60s as a comparison. I love the 1962 live from Kingston album but what about live vids.

As far as I know the only live shads vids/DVDs are:

Live from Liverpool
Final tour
Cliff and shads 2009 reunion
Thank you very much
Together 1984

I've got one DVD entitled The Shadows LIve. The compilation was made by EMI in 1986. The concert was recorded at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, but there is no mention of the year, let alone the exact date. It says on the front cover that this is a "video EP" because there are only seven tunes: Shadoogie, Time Is Tight, Theme from the Deerhunter, Equinoxe (Part V), Wonderful Land, Apache and FBI.

Alan Jones is on bass guitar and Cliff Hall is on keyboards.

This was actually the very first DVD I bought in the 1990s before I even had a DVD player. :D I just happened to see the DVD in a Helsinki music store and bought it as I was sure I would buy a DVD player sooner or later — or a computer with a DVD drive.

The live recordings of Cliff Richard & The Shadows from the 1984 VHS/Betamax video "Together 1984" and The Shadows' recordings from the 1986 VHS/Betamax video (actually first issued in 2000 on DVD) "The Shadows LIve", were recorded at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, England on the 7th, 9th, 10th and/or 11th of July, 1984.

I have a dvd of Hank Marvin, playing with his son and Brian May's son on the drums, called 'Hank Plays Live' filmed live in concert at the Birmingham Symphony Hall. Cliff Richard made a guest appearance, to sing 'Move It'.
I just had a look to see when it was recorded but can't seem to find it on the cover or dvd, looks to me like it could be late 90's. The DVD came out in 2004, so it can't be any later than this.
Cheers
Ryan

I have the same DVD, and the same concert on a CD as well! The CD seems to have been released in 1997.

I dont think Peter May is related to Brian May , When he played with Bucks Fizz, the engineer (also Cliffs engineer) recommended him to Cliff, then Hank asked him to play drums for him. although he does look a bit like Brian May. Gary

I just assumed that he was his son. I've heard Brian May say good things about Hank over the years, so wouldn't have been surprised if it was.
