Peace Pipe cover

Hi, I am newcomer from Australia. Been a Shads and Hank fan since I first heard Apache. I become very fond of most instrumental Bands of that time, such as Tijuana Brass, The Ventures, Duane Eddy etc. Found that vocals just get in the way of good tunes and most lyrics where stupid anyway ( bebop a lulu) (whop bobba Luppa tutty fruity). Picked up guitar and Trumpet but eventually gave up the trumpet that gave relief to my suffering neighbours. My wife and I gigged around playing mostly instrumental surf music with a sprinkling of vocal songs. I have attached a link to utube for my cover of Peace Pipe, this was one of tunes we would perform.
I once new a Shadows clone band in Tasmania Called "the five O'clock shadows". They released about 4 Cd's and none of them included Apache. Also when performing they would not play Apache. It was some sort of a respect thing for the Shad's Ist Hit. Strange me thinks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Regards, Andy

Nice playing and video Andy.

Funny about Apache, I usually try to avoid it, probably because I've played it in every band I've ever been in (on lead, rhythm and bass - there's only the drums left now!). There is such a thing as overkill!

At Shadows Club I tend not to do it because there's always someone else who wants to, and I'd rather not tread on anybody's toes.
