North Notts Club. Gear/Players.

Owing to the fact that we no longer have a regular bass player / provider of a bass amp / bass guitar for
the club meetings, it has become necessary to put out a call for a person or persons who would be prepared to fill that void.

My good friend Eric Wilson has offered to provide for October's meeting and any others he may be available for.
However, he may not be able to attend all 6 meetings throughout the year.
So if you are willing and able to help us out on a regular or occasional basis (and have a great afternoon into the bargain) then please get in touch with me ASAP.

We also are in need of a drummer(s) / provider of drums. Our current drummer John Loftus is prepared to help out as often
as he can but being now into his 70's by some margin and arthritis becoming problematic he as asked me to seek other willing
souls to help out, again on a regular or occasional basis.

At this point I feel I should say a big thank you to all who have provided equipment and services to the Notts club during the past 11 years.

There are alternatives of course such as play the live set without bass, drums or both, play only to backing tracks or close the club.
None of these 3 options are desirable in my opinion.

So there you have it folks. There are only 6 meetings a year and the dates of these are published well in advance.
Now I realize that as time marches on we become a diminishing group of players and listeners for our beloved Shad's music but I do hope we can muster enough enthusiasm to keep the club running with full instrumentation.

Finally, having spoken with Mike Kilner, he as asked me to say that the current situation at North Notts also applies to the Doncaster Club.
Please feel free to contact either or both of us if you are willing to help out.

Cheers all,

Pete.

Hi Pete,

I, myself and possibly other members from the North West Shadows club contingent would be happy to come over and help out, providing that the dates don't clash with our own meetings in Leyland (usually 3rd Sunday of the month?) As bassist with the Diamond Geezers, our clubs regular backing band, I'd be happy to come over with bass and amplifier. I may also be able to persuade Clive Dee as well who is our regular drummer. We have played many times with John Loftus and he has helped us out on innumerable occasions, 'Rocker John' is a star and with others from the Doncaster crew who have come over to us many times I'm sure we can sort something out, its just a matter of the dates. can you let me have more details Pete, ie all the dates and your location? Lets see if we can help. Please PM me if its easier.

Best wishes,
piecrusty

I'd be up more often if it wasn't so far. Great club.

Pete

If you are short of any gear for the club please don't hesitate to contact me. I can supply any of the following for 'Club meetings:

BASS AMP
1. TC Electronic BG 250 Bass amp - next best thing to the excellent MARK BASS amp which Pete and Kim usually turn up with - and long may they continue to do so.

ELECTRIC GUITAR AMPS
1. VOX AC 30 CC1
2. Lone Star Mesa Boogie Special - which you saw at the Club approximately 14 months ago.
3. Marshall Valve State VS100
4. Fender Super Champ XD

ACOUSTIC GUITAR AMP

Fishman Loud Box Mini

ECHO UNITS

1. I have two Yamaha Magic-stomps - programmed with Charlie Hall's echos
2. One Eccamatic - which, as you know, has received very favourable reviews on this website.

Likewise for Mike at the Doncaster club - although this may mean someone collecting the gear from my house as I rarely get to Doncaster, nowadays.

Best wishes

Tony

Thanks for that Tony.
Unfortunately Peter and Kim have decided that they won't be attending ANY Shads club meetings for the foreseeable future and so I'm trying to arrange some sort of rota
for this December and next year's 6 meetings to be covered.
If you want to PM me your land line number and I'll give you a call.

Cheers,

Pete
