Backing Tracks

I know this must have been covered by a previous thread, but my search didn't turn up any discussions. Where does one get "Hank-extracted" backing tracks?

They're not "Hank-extracted" but many of the BT's are very faithful to the original tune, for example

The Ventures released 2 CDs called Play With the Ventures vol 1/2 which are CDs made from the live 45th anniversary DVD with each guitar part stripped out so you have your choice of playing lead, rhtym or base.

It's another way for them to make a buck that I think is a good idea. Shads COULD do the same thing with the 2004 CD IF they wanted to.

Thanks Walt - I didn't know about these two new backing CDs - quite expensive at $32 each plus $14 postage to the UK. Quite like the medley track though.

Although a good idea to use the 2004 DVD to create backing tracks, it's extremely unlikely to get The Shadows interest or in fact their management team. Hank tried a similar route for his album "Marvin at The Movies" . He issued "Marvin Mastertrax" in 2000, which had 15 tracks from the main album as backing tracks with his lead removed. This was based on "64 track digital recording produced by Hank B Marvin".

I don't think it sold well enough or that a number of pirated copies flooded the market! It clearly didn't pay and was never repeated.

So with that experience, it's very unlikely that anything would come of your sugestion - I'm afraid. Good idea but failed on the previous first attempt!

Have you looked on the I think it is called Jamtracks web site, they do jam with Marvin CDs
