WHAT NOW?

Hello to other Shadsfriends! I remember all the writing and discussions on this website when I joined many years ago. Will we ever see The Shadows live again? Will Hank and Bruce be friends again? And then the miracle happened - the Magic Tour in UK and Europe 2004! And then we started again - will we ever see them again? And what about a future tour with Cliff? And then another miracle....
Now I´coming closer to the point - WHAT NOW? Is there any hope for things to happen in the future.....
Best regards
Even Trygve Hansen

First of all we must hope for a new Shadowmania at Lakeside in 2010.
Bruce: Do you listen....!

I would only hope that The Shadows could see their way clear to making one final CD with new material on it. This would surely be less of a strain than mounting another tour and obviously could be created at their leisure. Failing this, how about loosening the reins on whatever archive material remains whatever the quality. I would also love to see a definitive Biography of the band , written while the Band can still contribute if they wish. All parties concerned should realise that although there are some young Shadows fans around, none of us are getting any younger and interest will drop off.

Thanks, K.....good answer. Maybe I'll get my butt on a plane to the UK if there is one.

Katherine, did you just break Shadowmania 2010 news?

If so, woo hoo!

Wow that is a surprise announcement - anybody else feel as confident or have a direct link to Bruce?
I would have thought he'd want to finish the tour before making such a strong commitment so far ahead - still good news.
However, it has to be remembered that he has made a significant impact in raising and realising the strong interest and enthusiasm that exists in the community and we know that he gets a real buzz out of Shadowmania.
When Brian made a guest appearance he too realised that the interest was still there and his enthusiasm clearly has carried him on from there.
We really are so fortunate that they still want to entertain.
The concert I recently went to in Birmingham showed just how they genuinely were having a great time - it's infectious!

That's very promising news Katherine.
If it comes to pass, maybe like Walt, I should make the long journey to Lakeside.
I'll be watching with interest. But first i'm looking forward to March 1 in Christchurch, NZ.
Cheers,
JB

I would love to see a dvd of the band's old tv shows from the 60's and 70's (such as the NME poll winners concerts, all of which still survive). Or how about a Beatles-style 'Anthology' of the band? I guess it's wishful thinking but you never know.
