Hank is the cover story in the Age UK Life magazine. I have not yet read the article but if anyone is interested I can try to place it here. Unfortunately they have reversed the photo so he is playing left handed.

Left handed Hank? You sure its not Dan Martin in disguise??!!
I though they had Proof Readers and Editors and such to check for glaring errors like this.
Let's hope the text doesn't say he was a founder member of The Ventures.

nice, gentle, thoughtful article. On his way of generally going about life - I wish more folks would take note.
The pic is a reverse image picture of the album cover of "Hank Marvin - Guitar Player" from 2002.
A little Oops - Apache came out in 1960, not 1962, but on the whole it was a pleasant read.
I hadnt read before that Rankin got shortened to Rank (as you do in school!) and thence to Hank.

The article says "... the song that launched them as an act in their own right was the original version [of] Apache in 1962."

So that's TWO mistakes in one sentence!

Thanks Ian glad it worked. Ange is doing ok but is severely restricted without the use of her right hand/leg.
However she battles on through the frustration and seems well in all other ways.

Another little oops - it gives his age as 71 rather than 73.

Anyone working backwards from 71 will assume that Hank was just 14 when he was recruited by John Foster in the 2i's for Cliff Richard's backing group . . .

Did they actually interview Hank or make it all up?

It also states Apache 1962!!!!
Looks to be a pretty amateur cut and paste job i.mh.o. just like the tabloid rags.
