This site now not available via Google Chrome...

Something's happened to prevent Google Chrome (a web-browser) from gaining proper access to this site. This is a shame because Chrome, unlike Firefox and Internet Explorer, allows the user to log-on automatically every time - and it's fasterthan either of them.

The opening screen (URL: http://www.shadowmusic.co.uk/) won't display any images, and when you try to get from there to the main board view (URL: index.php), you get what is essentially a text-only version of the site - very retro.

The fun starts when you go past there to the "View New Posts" page and try to open one of the topics displayed in glorious text-only (eg: URL:http://shadowmusic.bdme.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1185).

You then get the "Oops! This link appears to be broken." message...

Any idea what's gone wrong?

I'm able to log on automatically each time with Firefox and Internet Explorer!

It sounds like a problem with Chrome.

Nah... I've tried everything with Chrome... I CAN get onto the site with it, but not via links from the front page (which is a royal pain).

I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and it's no different.

Ah well, it's now been uninstalled again and I've cited Firefox as the default browser. It isn't as fast as Chrome (and it doesn't have that nice collection of your six most frequently-visited sites on the front page), but at least it's working. That's something.

Problem located and solved. For some reason, the saved URL for this site had reverted to the older "tgis" domain name instead of the newer "bdme" version.

All repaired now..

Google Chrome is a fair bit quicker to load than the later versions of IE (and even faster than Firefox, though Firefox has its advantages).

All's well that ends well.
