I remember the straps too. Nice comfy shoulder pad with Selmer embossed on it.
Anyone know if you can get straps like that now?

Sorry!- but No to those straps- when playing a long gig, the shoulder pad moves about when it's worn, and the thin strap cuts into your shoulder- the wide leather straps work better!
As for Hank's hair in that shot...all that 'greasy kid stuff' Brylcreem, errrk!

Yes, that's correct. I have one and I'd say it's no more or no less comfortable than other straps. It doesn't have 'Selmer' embossed on it. though!
