This unusual guitar instrumental was done by an Aussie heavy rock band who were better known for political/message songs

John

I don't think it's a surprising aspect of the band. I have seen one of the guitarists playing a Burns Marvin on stage. I suspect a Shadows connection from a distant past!

Michael

And here's the same piece, played by somebody called The Atlantics:

Steve,

The Atlantics were/are the Aussie Shadows!

They've been active since about 1962 and still play- they played at the Olympics opening in Sydney in 2000.

8-) Hi John, if you like The Oils playing instrumentals try the following';
http://www.thebreak.net.au

3 of the guys from Midnight Oil plus people from Violent Femmes and Hunters & Collectors have formed a surf/rock band called The Break.

I saw them support The Atlantics at The Brass Monkey in Cronulla a while ago.

Give them a listen. You might enjoy what they have to offer!
