What's ICP, I hear you ask?

Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) is also known as obstetric cholestasis (OC). It is a liver disorder which occurs during pregnancy, and which has been known to be diagnosed at any time from 8 weeks onwards. It affects 1 in 140 pregnant women, and has been reported to be associated with an increased risk of spontaneous premature birth, fetal distress and stillbirth. Some of the main symptoms are intense itching that affects the palms of the hands and soles of the feet, and can easily be dismissed due to lack of awareness of the condition.

This condition is of personal interest to me as my stepdaughter, Jo, was affected by it whilst expecting her second baby and was a cause of great worry to all of us. Fortunately, the symptoms were recognised and the condition was managed at an early stage and young Thomas arrived safely on 8th April 2014.

The gig is on Saturday 28th March at Seaford Constitutional Club, a venue which some of you may be familiar with, as it was the venue for the Sussex Shadows Club.

Tickets are £8, and are available from the band's website, http://www.specsappealband.co.uk on the 'Forthcoming Dates' page.

Final bump back up to the top, there's still tickets available!

Also, a huge amount of thanks to Jim Nugent, who's offered to step in on rhythm while Paul is suffering from a bad bout of sciatica. Thanks Jim, you're a star.

Don't be too previous with the thanks, Simon.

You haven't heard my playing yet.

Gear chosen for the show (though I might change my mind on any item):

1962 American Vintage Reissue Stratocaster (FR of course)
1965 Reissue Fender Deluxe Reverb
2003 Gibson J-200.

I might bring my Martin 12-string for Mary Anne...

And I might leave a Gretsch Country Gentleman on a stand on the stage as a spare ... because I can. ;)

The Gretsch would be good for Nivram!

Simon,

Perhaps you could PM me the address (inc postcode) of the venue, together with a desired arrival time.

Best wishes,
