Friday 31st August 1962: a networked ATV programme, pre-recorded (during daylight) at what was then the ATV Elstree studios (it's where the BBC nowadays does "Eastenders"). Also featured were Frank Ifield and Cliff Richard (as the tea boy).

Despite Trevor Popple's best efforts, no video can be found, but the audio is still around (presumably care of someone with a good quality tape-recorder and a hard-wired connection between it and the TV set).

Hank is wearing a huge beret in one of the photos (or at least, that's what it can look like).

I remember seeing this show at the time although I was only 9 then.
Sad it was not archived because for years I thought about it and would have liked to have seen it again when I was older and knew more about them.
You never know, sometimes film reels turn up in garden sheds.

I think that's Hank's very good, but rarely seen, impression of 'The Saint'.

Wouldn't that be great! I fear, though, that all the extant ATV video is already out there somewhere. But the audio would be good to hear if anyone knows a source.
