This must have been mentioned here before - but the live album of Rory Storm and the Hurricanes from 1960 (with Ringo on drums) is quite an interesting album. Live at the Jive Hive.

The set list really gives an interesting take on what had been inspiring everyone - although the pub band sound makes me think that they would have failed a Shadowmania audition

Both represent what music fans of that time were listening to rather than the bulk of what was in the charts ...........

I think it's been established that it's not actually Ringo on drums on that cd. Can't remember who it is but it's not Paul !
I hope there's more tapes like that knocking around that will see the light of day before i snuff it. The world could certainly do with some Shads 1958 to 68 Archival releases esp from the Jet/Tony era.

I know - Ringo Starr seems to think he's not on drums and he'd left by then but it's supposed to be from March 60 and I thought he joined the Beatles at the last minute in 62. Anyway I'm pleased to have heard another snapshot from those days - when the Shads ruled and the beat boom was borrowing their set list
