My son is looking for information about a band of this name. He thinks they were late 50s, but as the Telstar satellite was not launched until 1962, it would seem more likely they were early 60s.
Nothing turning up on Google.

Came across this:
BEATLES BOOTLEGS
LIVE PERFFORMANCE JANUARY - JUNE 1963
TOUR OF SCOTLAND
63 Jan 3 ( Elgin , Two Red Shoes Ballroom)
63 Jan 4 (Dingwall, Town Hall)
63 Jan 5 8:30-11:45 pm ( Bridge of Allan , Museum Hall)
& Roy Purdon & The Telstars
63 Jan 6 ( Aberdeen , Beach Ballroom)
END OF TOUR
I looked to see if I could find anything else on them for you but drew a blank
The above is part of the Beatles tour in 1963 and they appear to be a support group
at The Beach Ballroom Aberdeen Good Luck in your search about them
