Just noticed this...

I've seen the full length Cliff/Shads footage and it is worth having.

(Much, much better than the rubbishy new CGI series!!!)

FAB!!!

To put it into a bit more perspective.

The footage of Cliff and the Shadows filmed at Century 21 studios was only discovered and made available quite recently - about a year ago. I was lucky enough to see it in its entirety before its initial release on Blu-ray in the US. Although there is an edited version on youtube, the complete footage runs to about 15 minutes. First of all we get a Cliff/Shads run through of 'Shooting Star', then each Shadow in turn mimes to the song on their own. The Brian Bennett footage is really good! Then we have a minute or so of Hank, Bruce and John playing the instrumental 'Lady Penelope'. Well worth having, in my opinion and those with home editing software and capabilities could have a lot of fun!

FAB.

I can remember at the time buying a program type book from WHS on the movie and there was a feature of Cliff & The Shadows in it with photographs of the real ones with the puppets.
Don't know if there are any of these books still in existance?

Sadly, No.

Blu-ray is high definition as opposed to DVD which is standard definition. However, you CAN play DVDs on Blu-ray players and it will upscale them and make 'em look better!!!

Yeah, I had that too - although not actually purchased in 1965!

I suspect not, as people tended not to keep things in those days, just threw them away when they were finished with. According to legend, Captain Scarlet was rescued from a skip behind the studios!

But only if the Blu-ray player and the screen are connected using an HDMI cable.

Very, Very unlikely. If they did, then I am sure they would have surfaced by now at an exhibition or convention or, at the very least, in photos on the 'net.

I did ask Brian Bennett a couple of years ago if he still had HIS puppet and, sadly, no he hasn't.
