Finders Keepers on DVD

I couldn't find the original thread so created a new one.
Has anyone bought this film on DVD yet? If so, is the quality up to scratch? I'm asking as i might buy it, it's the only film i haven't seen and it seems to heavily feature The Shadows.

I got my copy of Finders Keepers on DVD yesterday and watched it.
I have to say i was really disappointed, the plot was ridiculous, the jokes were awful, people acted illogically at times and the whole thing lacked the magic of earlier films. The only good thing was the music, written by the boys and it was good seeing them getting more screen time and lines but the film just didn't work, no wonder it's not shown often anymore. A real shame that i paid £13 for

I think you rightly hit on the plus points, that Hank, Bruce, Brian and John wrote all the music and performed on screen a lot more. These films weren't cinematic masterpieces, they were commercial vehicles for the "product" that was Cliff Richard and, to a lesser extent, The Shadows. Their successes relative to each other was all to do with the timing of release, I suggest.

Speaking as a thirty three year old, I actually really like the film, and prefer it to all the others. Have you seen Wonderful Life?!
I think the film is quite a response and reaction to Hard Days Night/Help etc...
As was Rhythm and Greens!
Even by 1966/67, in comparison to other films of a similar ilk... in my opinion, The Young Ones and Summer Holiday were badly dated by then!
They were trying to keep up with the times, easy as that... whether they succeeded or failed, that's not for me to say.
What I will say, is that they got two songs, 'Time Drags By' and 'Finders Keepers' out of it!
Not just those, either... brilliant songs!

yeah have to admit Finders Keepers is my favourite of them all, i quite liked some of the jokes and bits and i thought the inclusion of the shadows a lot more was much better. I particularly liked the scene when they were locked in the cellar and kept the piano playing whilst they escaped.

Finders Keepers is my favourite. I love seeing the Greenburst Marvin's. My favourite part, though, was "Oh Senorita" with Hank serenading the lady wearing the veil.

I think it is much better than "Wonderful Life" and that was quite fun to watch as well. I find some of the one-liners very amusing, like Hank's quip to Cliff when they are hidden in the bags on top of a donkey: "Who ever heard of a Trojan donkey?!". Also, Robert Morley's remark while looking at the drunk guy in the nightclub: "The demon-drink, let that be a lesson to you Burke!".
