The Frightened City film music

Sorry if this has been covered before..

I just watched this 1961 film again for the first time in years, and was listening to the well known theme tune, incidental music etc- which evidently was composed etc by Norrie Paramour, according to the credits.

To my ears, most of the guitar work sounded like Vic Flick, but does anyone know who may have played on the soundtrack?

Thanks

I would probably guess that session guitarists such as Eric Ford, Ernie Shear, and maybe even Bert Weedon
might have had some involvement as regular participants on Norrie Paramor sessions
Even in his autobiography, Vic Flick is very modest on his vast session work, but whilst still with the JB7,
at mid 1961, he was on a lot of big band/ orchestral stuff, so he cant be ruled out here.

A previous thread on the subject speculated on the possibility of Vic Flick (certainly with the John Barry Seven at the time) or Joe Moretti as the soundtrack guitarist, but it appears the definitive answer has never been discovered. The video of the full film is no longer available on Youtube.

Thanks chaps!

I still think it sounds like Vic's 'touch' in both the 'main title theme' (!!) and also the interesting incidental music throughout the film..so typical of its time and the film genre..

Also, the guitar sound and timbre sounds like a Strat to me- and that was probably Vic's main electric guitar at that time- doesn't sound like the Clifford Essex archtop he used on the Bond theme, and in the film music there is use of a vibrato arm, which the CE archtop didn't have.

It didn't look like Vic was playing/acting as one of the two young lads in the nightclub group- although they both had white Strats like Vic's!

Don't worry, someone's bound to put it back up. They usually do when something's been deleted!

Doesn't Norrie appear briefly in the film, i think he's a pianist.
