DJANGO'S CASTLE IMPORT CD

Got this CD recently, and I have to say I think it's far and away Hank's best non-Shadows release. The playing is simply phenomenal. I hear that it's topped the jazz chart in America, where the Shads never even got a sniff. Australia and New Zealand seem to appreciate Hank's Gypsy Jazz, and therefore it's a mystery to me why British fans barely seem to mention it. In all the many interviews he gave last time he was here, he was not asked about it. Jazz is popular here - you only have to listen to Jamie Cullum's Radio 2 show to discover that. The Shads will always be unique and unbeatable, but there's so much more to Hank Marvin. This CD deserves at the very least a full release here.

You've answered your own question. The album needs a physical release and to be available in Sainsbury's for £8.99.

Not being that familiar with gypsy jazz I compared Hanks arrangements to others, On the fretboard he really does make the most of every situation,Its exciting and unpredictable,Its gentle on the ear and a good introduction to Shads fans seeing that its still Hank, the rest of the band are not bad either.Yep..maybe a follow up CD or even a DVD will do...maybe a coffee and some croissants too.......Gary

I'm surprised that the cd wasn't released on a classical/jazz label as classical CDs don't sell nearly as many as pop - and I'm sure Hank's would have out-sold most classical CDs. It's a great cd by a big name.
