The Shadows compilation LP "More Rarities"

I've just managed to win a demonstration copy of the 1985 New Zealand compilation LP "More Rarities". I didn't know (but could have known via Malcolm Campbell's book "The Shadows At EMI - The Vinyl Legacy") that the promised single version of "Riders In The Sky", actually is the album version of the track. I have a question though: Malcolm Campbell in his book "The Shadows At Polydor - The 1980's And Beyond", on page 107 refers to the 1988 SCOFA 17 article, page 20, which describes the EMI tracks on the "More Rarities" LP as not quite as satisfactory as the six Polydor tracks. Does anyone know what exactly is not satisfactory about those tracks?

Hi Ivo,

I don't understand Malcom's comment either. See the attached scan of the SCOFA mag page in question.

I received a message from Malcolm yesterday evening and he explained that he referred to Ian Kershaw's remark about the album version of "Riders In The Sky" and "Cricket Bat Boogie" without the reprise at the end: "...apart from the wrong version of "Riders In The Sky" and the end missing from "Cricket Bat Boogie".
