Here are two very different renditions of one of my all time favourite Shads tracks
Larry Carlton - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haLd0r_K ... re=related
Brian Setzer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZuHREUI ... re=related or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YA3lTf-l ... re=related

Enjoy

This one is OK, too.
BTW the original was not by the Shadows.

Yes, I was aware the Shads didn't record the original but theirs is probably the version we are most familiar with and the one most of us heard first.

While we're attit, here's The Ventures version w/Jeff "Skunk" Baxter on pedal steel from the 1980's:

and here's the version from the 45th Anniversary tour:

Lettuce not 4get the original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogxTQXAgY3Q

All the versions posted here are great as they're all played in the style of the group or individual playing Sleepwalk.

Whilst I love the Shad's version, the original, by Santo & Johnny was, in my opinion, the best.

Had not come across the Chet & Leo version before Bojan. Thanks for the post.

There was also a very good version by the Ventures on You Tube some months ago, with Nokie playing a superb treatment with some of his excellent fingerpicking on his Hitchhiker guitar- I think it was a live stage clip from their 2004 tour.

The original guitar instrumental version by Santo and Johnny from about 1959- with lap steel guitar lead melody- is an all time classic I think- beautiful sound and tune.
