Jet Harris Isle of Wight Home

Hi All,

A bit of useless information for most people but thought I would share it with you anyway!
I was brought up on the Isle of Wight and visit several times a year as have relations there.
I knew for some time that Jet used to live at Bembridge, so this summer (!!), as we were actually staying in Bembridge (we usually stay/visit the other side of the island) I thought that just out of interest, I would try and find it and have a "discrete" walk past as to not disturb the current occupiers.
Anyway, cycling around town with the one who knows best, found a gardener cutting someone's hedge. Assumed that he must be local, went and asked him, while the one who knows best, promptly cycled on!
It turned out not only did he know where Jet used to live, but he did some work there a few years back for him!

So later on in our holiday we did our "discreet" walk by. I guess you would say Bembridge is a very large seaside village, but the house was certainly in a very rural part of it right on the outskirts. It was down a dead end lane which led to a footpath, very quiete and out of the way.
Saying that, it was just a long stones throw from a holiday park, where they had entertainment, so did wonder if Jet ever did any "prompto" appearances there.

One thing that did make me smile though, in a field right by the house, they have "Christian" summer camps, and knowing after seeing Jet a few times in concert, with his very light hearted jokes about Cliff being able to walk on water etc, it did give me a chuckle!
