What's the time Mr. Wolf?

Just a wee observation and curiosity getting the better of me but could I ask why the timestamp on posts is in BST rather than GMT? The clocks went back a couple of months ago and as the site is hosted in the UK should its internal clock not have gone back too?
It can confuse a simple person (no comments please Malc, George or Alan, I know what you're itching to say) when you respond to a post BEFORE (according to the clock on your pc) it is written (as timestamped on the system). Maybe it's just the dementia kicking in.
Happy Easter to to you all!

The time stamp on posts depends on the time zone you have set in the user control panel. You need to set your time zone to GMT in which case all timings will be in GMT.

I think that "Time" on this forum is actually set by the User (I.E. the individual).
There was a post a while back that explained the process (something to do with "User Control Panel" - see upper left of this page) .
Anyroadup, I had a fiddle at that time, and "my" time is now correct.

Paul

Cheers Paul. Got it sorted now. Here's hoping I remember to switch BST on next spring.

Hi,
While on this subject, could one of you learned people tell me what UTC is? Thank you. Wilson.

Hi Wilson
I think UTC is "Universal Time Constant." In other words, the reference or base time to which all other world time zones are related. Just a new name for GMT!
Cheers.
