Just to announce that next years Scarborough Shadows Gala has had to be moved to the 2nd 3rd July 2015 as the Rugby Club venue was unavailable for our usual dates. Will put more details on nearer the date.

Hi all,
This is to confirm that the gala will be on July 2nd and 3rd 2016 at the Rugby Club as usual. I have just found out that the annual Cricket Festival in Scarborough begins that weekend. This will have an effect on the hotels, so if you wish to book at the usual hotels then I would do it soon as the hotels will start to fill up. The Ryndle Court Hotel phone number is 01723 375188 and the Headlands is 01723 373717. I think some from up north stay at the Gordon Hotel and Russell Hotel. Any problems please give me a ring.

Booked into Ryndle Court and looking forward to another great weekend

Hi all
The East Yorkshire Shadows Club Annual Shadows Music Gala will take place over the weekend of 2nd,3rd July 2016 at Scarborough Rugby Club, Scalby Road, Scarborough YO13 0NL.
We are pleased to announce that our special guests this year will be from Sweden, well known composer Lennart Clerwall & lead guitarist Kurt Froberg. Lenny is well known for writing some of the great modern day Shadows type tunes as performed by leading Shadows bands of today. He has written many of the tunes played by Roger Allcock & Roger Paulson on their backing track cd’s.
Kurt is well known as lead guitarist with Sweden’s top Shadows band ‘The Ryders’
Lenny & Kurt will be playing live, along with other notable bands ‘The Fentone Four’ ‘Legend’ and ‘The Ian McCutcheon Band’
At least five live bands will be playing as well as lots of time for individual players over the weekend with full bar and catering facilities over both days and car parking for at least 300 cars.
Relaxed seating and full air conditioning.

Sunday 10-30am-5-30pm

It promises to be a really super event for any Shadows / instrumental guitar music fan

Lenny Clerwall has written so many of the tunes that are popular with Shadows style guitarists and this will be a rare opportunity to see him 'live'. The fact that Kurt Froburg will be there as well is a bonus!

Make a note of the dates for a weekend not to be missed !
