I was wondering if Jimmy Page played harmonica on Cliff Richard & The Shadows' "Hey Doctor Man", as well as their "Time Drags By". The recording date for "Time Drags By" is April 26th, 1966. The recording dates for "Hey Doctor Man" are October 14th, 1966 (The Shadows' part), November 16th, 1966 (Cliff's lead vocal) and November 19th, 1966. According to some documents, this last date is the one for the orchestral overdub. However, there is no orchestra audible on this track, so I assume the harmonica was recorded on this date. Does anyone know if Jimmy Page played on "Hey Doctor Man"?

I have only ever read this...
Cliff Richard - 'Time Drags By', 1966.
"It is hard to imagine Led Zeppelin and Cliff Richard ever collaborating but this one came pretty close. Jimmy Page played harmonica on this minor Cliff Richard hit."

and also this...

I think this quote is attributed to JP
"Today sees the release of 'Time Drags By' by Cliff Richard. I had been booked to play harmonica on a session at EMI Studio Number Two and discovered that it was for Cliff Richard. The song had been written by the Shadows guitarists Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch, who were there with drummer Brian Bennett and Cliff. They were super gracious and encouraging and it was a pleasure to have worked with some of the UK music aristocracy. This song was later to feature in the film 'Finders Keepers'. In 1959 I played one support spot whilst in 'Neil Christian and the Crusaders' for Cliff and the Shadows at Edmonton Odeon. I was still at school and I couldn't really talk to the other kids about this so I kept it to myself. In 1981, in the same studio on the same day, I was overdubbing the orchestra on the Death Wish II project."

Not sure that answers the question but may be of interest....

It doesn't answer my question, but it's nice to read a quote about "Time Drags By" from Jimmy Page, which I hadn't read before!
