It is with great sadness that I have to announce the death of my long time personal friend and Notts. Club co-founder Ian McPhail after a short illness.

Although his name may not be familiar to many of you, Ian was the one who sat on the door collecting subs. and handing out the raffle tickets which he had done since the club started in 2003.
I first got to know Ian when we played in the same band together in the late sixties and we became good friends. He would certainly have wanted this coming Sunday's Notts, Club meeting to still go ahead and indeed it will,
both in his memory and the late Chris Jarvis.

Ian leaves his wife Carole and daughter Charlotte. Our sincere condolences to all his family.

I'll keep the board updated with the details of any arrangements as I get to know about them.

Terrible news, I first met Ian just before the North Notts club started out and he bought an echo machine from me. Only last year he sold me a junior Strat guitar for Joy's grandson. A lovely man indeed. Our condolences to his family and friends.

R.I.P. IAN - Although it's been quite a while since we last saw him, both Paul and I remember Ian well and the friendly welcome we always got. That, and being gently 'mugged' for raffle ticket money. Our sincere condolences to his family and to Pete for the loss of a true friend.

Very sad news - he was a pleasant, affable man, who will be missed by all who knew him at the North Notts Club.
