Surprised to see a long piece on Brian in the Daily Mail's magazine this morning (Sat 9/4) - mainly there as he shows support for the band's singer I guess, but not too bad re Brian and Shads facts.

Brian is said to have had the most successful career of all the Shadows.

For me, the final paragraph sums up the man - he's an institution in his own way.

From Leo's Den...

I honestly can't imagine there are many of you that don't have this CD but I thought I should give it another mention as Brian had a mini interview in the Daily Mail Magazine over the weekend. Sadly in true British journalistic style it was an attention grabbing headline. The article was supposed to be about Brian's CD but it ended up touching on Cliff and how he was coping with the allegations. This is a subject Brian doesn't feel comfortable discussing so to see it as the headline upset him a little. Sounds like a repeat of Bruce's experience with an article on his battle with cancer that focused on his past relationship with Olivia!? If needed we do have access to Brian's article and can forward it. Moving on....Must add as we are talking about Brian there is still no news on his book sadly.

Yes, good to see Brian (and the Shadows) getting some positive publicity. However, I agree that, yet again, the piece was hijacked by the opportunity to turn into something quite different to what I suspect the journalist had led Brian to believe. Sadly, ALL papers do this, not just the Mail. A shame, especially as with it being inside the magazine, it would have been bought anyway - it's not as if it was splashed across the front page to sell a few more papers!

Still, thumbs up for Brian and I hope when his autobiography comes out, the said journos will try to steer clear of the inevitable and obvious topic!
