Yes indeed!!! but don't tell Messers Page and Plant who currently seem
to be getting grief from a third party, regarding the intro to Stairway To
Heaven.
Aye, there's money to be had from old chord patterns!!!

Surely it has been established in law that you cannot claim composer's rights for a chord pattern?

If you could, someone would try and 'own' the 12-bar blues sequence.
Similarly, a lot of jazz instrumentals are based on the chord sequences of popular songs.

Where did the intro from Apache come from? The Shadows version is different from Bert Weedon`s ,Bert`s was recorded first ,also The Ramrods used the Apache intro on the fade out of Riders in The Sky.

Bruce Welch says in his book A Life in The Shadows that The Shadows wrote it. I'm kind of too busy at the moment waiting for the second half of the Liverpool vs Dortmund football match to find it in the book.
