Hi all,
As many of you know the East Yorkshire Guitar club do not normally hold a meeting in August but this year we are holding a special summer meeting at Levisham Station on the scenic North Yorkshire Moors Railway on August 7th 11am until 4pm.
Come and enjoy a relaxing afternoon of music in this beautiful woodland valley. You are welcome to join us, bring a guitar and join in to play the music of the Shadows to backing tracks or with a live band .
If you are travelling on the train entry is free , otherwise the purchase of a £2 raffle ticket will allow you into the paddock as well as a chance to win in the raffle!
More details nearer the time.
Cheers Linda

Hi all,
Just an update on the meeting at Levisham. As well as the club members playing on the day we are pleased to tell you that we will also have three bands playing throughout the day. They are Shadowsmusic, The Fentone Four and Legend. All welcome even if it rains!!
Cheers Linda

Hi Linda
It was good to meet you and Ian at Scarborough recently. As it was my first time there it became an exercise in putting faces to familiar names!
Looking forward very much to this event - thank you for all you do.

Hi Linda,
Having missed the Gala Weekend due to us moving house we are especially looking forward your upcoming meeting in Levisham. Will there be any opportunity for us club players to knock out one or two numbers, or shall I leave my guitar at home?
Either way we look forward to seeing everyone again.
Cheers,
Bob & Charlotte

Hi All
Good news.
As an added attraction the Levisham Wombles are going to provide the beer tent for the August meeting.
The Weighbridge and Paddock tea huts will be open all day to supply hot and cold drinks, snacks and ice cream.
All welcome. It should be an entertaining day.
Cheers
Gordon

To help anyone who has not been to Levisham before some useful information below:
There is only limited parking at the station and the Forestry Commision has a locked gate across the forest road, so no parking in the woods.
It is recommended to come on the train but if you do come by road the scenery is spectacular and you will remember the journey!
Directions to LEVISHAM STATION (YO18 7NN)
By Road
From A169 Whitby – Pickering road take the turnoff for Lockton/Levisham.
Pass through Lockton following the signs for Levisham Only.
Continue through Levisham village and at the Horseshoe Inn follow the sign for Levisham Stn Only. (The station is one and a half miles from the village and 400 feet lower in the bottom of the valley).
Beware – this is a single track road with passing places!
At the bottom of the hill the Station car park is on the left before the level crossing.
Parking is free with a request for a donation to the Station Group.
By Train
From Pickering (YO18 7AJ)
Park in the NYMR Station car park (Pay & Display £5 all day) or the Trout Lake car park (£5 all day – pay at gate).
A footpath at the side of the railway workshop building leads to the station.
At the booking office buy a ticket to Levisham. £9 return. (Senior over 65 £8)
Trains leave at 10-50, 12-00, 14-00. Board in the front three coaches.
Return on trains at 14-20, 15-25, 17-25
See you on Sunday
Cheers
Gordon

What a fabulous day we enjoyed at the East Yorkshire Shadows Club's meeting at Levisham last Sunday. Thanks very much to everyone involved in making it a memorable day. The evening meal at The Horseshoe pub in Levisham was also very good.
Cheers,
Bob & Charlotte
