OT - The Highwaymen

2 years ago I discovered Mark Knopfler's solo material because of casually finding his great concert with Emmylou Harris on BBC Alba - which led to purchasing all of his back catalogue.

Same thing has just happened with the short lived country supergroup 'The Highwaymen' (Nelson, Jennings, Cash, Kristofferson). Found their live concert 'American Outlaws' on Sky Arts by accident and have since got into them - such a shame they did not do more together - so check it out if you get a chance.

Try 'Are You Sure Old Hank Did It This Way' for some great pickin' - not our Hank of course!

Agreed!

I saw them when they toured here in Oz some years ago....and their backing band was also truly amazing- lead guitarist was the 'legendary Reggie Young from Memphis' as they introduced him...the whole show blew me away!

I went with members of my band, including my wife who was playing bass, and our lady singer's husband said to me after the show...'I never knew Willie Nelson could play guitar like THAT!!!'

I thought Krisofferson's singing had greatly improved over the years! Nice to hear him start his own song Sunday morning Coming Down and then hand the vocals over to Cash who had the hit with the song!
