Hope you all had a good Christmas.
I am looking for a good luthier to have some work done on my Strat.
1) Looking to have internal Roland midi pickup installed...have been using an external one but have decided to invest in an iternal one.
2) Am looking to freshen up my strat which I have had for a while. Either refinish the neck in a nice gloss or even completely replace the neck with a nice birds eye maple or flame maple neck.
Can anyone recommend anyone in South London/Surrey area or even slightly beyond who could do such a job?
Richard

Richard,
Give Mark a ring at Bonners Eastbourne - I've had a Roland pickup fitted but it was some time ago and I can't remember where Mark sent it. He will also advise of someone who can do neck work. These will be in East Sussex, so not too far from you.
Good luck
Terry

I had my seven string made by a guy called Brian Eastwood. When I went to pick it up he showed me his workshop. It was full of past projects that he'd done for customers. Even had the melted Strat that you see in one of the Clapton album covers(cant remember which one) in fiesta red, plus a load of weird stuff he did for the glam rockers of the seventies.
Only problem is that he stays in what you'd probably call "way up north" in Bacup.
If you Google his name you will get his site up.
Hugh.

Hi Rysio...
Mick Johnson would be able to make a superb Strat neck for a good price. I can put you in touch if you like. He's in Reading.

I've had my Strat serviced by an excellent luthier at Ritz Music in Lacey Road, Putney. Fairly minor jobs, but done while I waited - and he seemed more interested in his work than in getting paid for it!

Agree with Ken. Chap at Ritz Music, Putney is great. And incredibly cheap!
