He not only generously bought the first Strat for Hank and let him use it as his main live and recording instrument for a number of years, but he also kindly let Bruce use his Gibson J200 on many recordings..
In a similar vein, back then, apparently Marty Wilde bought Sister Rosetta Tharpe's Gibson Les Paul and let his lead player Big Jim Sullivan use it!
Those singers were generous chaps back then!
