I note in this months guitar Magazines the latest Collector Stratocaster comes with additional subject trem.
I can't see its muting benfit in practice but I can see its benefit in its comfort in the angle it lends itself to the hand.
Does that make sense??

You can actually rest the whole width of your hand across the brige for muting purposes. The location of the standard tremelo prevents that. And it's much more carefully made that the standard Fender trems and so the screw fitting is tighter...

But not everyone likes the way it looks... choices, choices!!

I've got one on my MIM Hank Marvin Signature Strat but was a little annoyed that it hung too low down and wasn't a locking tremelo, e.g. closer to the top E string. The good folk on this forum came up with the answer - plumber's tape wound round the screw thread. Job's a good 'un
