One of my friends is convinced that he saw the Shadows appearing at The Commodore Club in Nottingham in the 1970s. He cannot remember when, but thinks that it was around 1978. I wonder if they played there on their 20 Golden Dates tour of '77, as they played to a wide variety of venues on that tour. I would have thought that, by '78, they were playing theatres. So, can anyone help? Did the Shadows, or MWF, play the Commodore in the 1970s?

Hmmm... nothing in Liverpool... but two nights in Southend and two in Wakefield!

I saw them at the Southport Theatre that year.

Too right Paul, I remember playing the Commodore in the 70's too!!

Nice to know someone still has a copy of one of my books in good condition...

They played some weird and wonderful venues in those days, didn't they? I remember in 1977 they played two nights (obviously one was not enough!!) at a nightclub in Cleethorpes - Bunny's Place. I wanted to go, but as a lad of 13, it was out of the question! I believe the club burnt down a few years later. Nothing to do with me, I hasten to add...
