From a 1961 EP (scan kindly provided by Danish fan Keld Sorenson).

Proof of Jet's reversion to "au naturel" before Tony left in October 1961. This nevertheless may be the first picture I've ever seen of a post-blond Jet whilst the group still had the original line-up.

This subject was mentioned a few weeks ago, but I can't remember by whom...

Hi JIm

There is a pic of them onstage somewhere in Sweden, I think. It's in the Cliff book by Dezo Hoffman. I tried to post it on here but the file is too big and i don't have photoshop to cut it down. It's from an outdoor gig and Jet has his overcoat on, Soundcheck I suppose, but Tony is the drummer and Jet certainly has black hair. Don't know whether or not it's prior to yours. I have seen Jet with Tony with black hair on the pics from Cliff's 21st on October 14th 1961. They took some with Tony and then with Brian, who had just joined.
I am sure I have seen the Swedish pic on this site before and I am sure it will be in the archive. I am sure some of our members will know exactly when it was taken.

Hi Stuart,

I suppose these are the photos you are referring to. They are take in August, 1961 in Copenhagen.

Best wishes,

Ulrich

Hi Ulrich

They are the ones. It's interesting to see Jet with black hair in this pic. As I stated there are pics at Cliff's 21st of him with black hair but the cover of the album, 21 Today, clearly shows him with blond hair as does his shots in The Young Ones. One must assume that the pic on the album cover and the Shads scenes from the Young Ones were taken prior to this date. Interesting stuff Jim and thanks for the first post.

Regards

Stuart

Hi,

The pictures are taken in Stockholm, Sweden, at "Gröna Lund" amusement park. I think P-O Alm was there in the audience...

Maybe some help lines:
Record Mirror: In fact, it rained so hard when we flew into Stockholm that large puddles had formed on the landing strips and we were diverted to a small airport about 30 miles away.
We drove straight to a wonderful hotel and once we had a press reception over, had the evening off.
Cliff and the boys all went to the Tivoli, where we were due to appear the next night. This is like a huge open air fairground and we found we were playing in a open-air stadium. Much to our surprise, playing there were the Platters vocal group. Their performance knocked us all out. Then we found they were staying at the same hotel.

Hi

Just looked at the pics from Bridlington on Sept 3rd 1961. Jet has black hair on these. Just after the ones in Sweden.
