Hi folks, here's your 1 week advance reminder of the next North Notts meeting on Sunday 16th October.

Those of you who were at the last meeting will know that owing to yet another large hike in the cost of hiring the room (almost double), I have has to increase the admission fee from £1 to £2.
It is however, the only increase in the door charge in almost 20 years!

So, hope to see you all again for another afternoon of good music and friendship.

Cheers for now,

Pete

Hoping to see a few old friends on Sunday at North Notts as it's been a couple of years since I went.
Arthur is helping out with drumming duties so I'm coming to keep him company and do a bit of catching up with one or two faces. ;)

I managed to call in for an hour when the live session had started and saw some good performances with Arthur backing them up on the kit and Alan Jones on bass. It's good to see our music still being enjoyed by the punters and I have to congratulate Pete and R Lass upon providing these ' get togethers', it's been over twenty years now. I must admit I love R Lass's cakes and enjoyed a lovely slice of her home made carrot cake with a nice cuppa.
i was asked to play but I couldn't stay long as we're up to our necks in it at home with the builders' coming in tomorrow so I'm having to focus on that, but maybe I'll get to December's bash and join in. :)

Been a long time since I was last at the club and am still unable to travel because of my lung conditions and am now on oxygen 24/7 I have COPD and Fibrosis.
As if that wasn't enough, I am now unable to play guitar as I have a condition in my hands called dupuytren's contracture.
The condition affects a layer of tissue that lies under the skin of your palm. Knots of tissue form under the skin — eventually creating a thick cord that can pull one or more fingers into a bent position. There is no cure for this and it is worse in my left hand which is now bent quite badly. There is an operation available but I can't have it as it involves general anaesthetic, which I cannot have due to my lung conditions
Anyway, I am glad the club is still going and certainly miss the good times I used to have there amongst friends
