Shads gigs 1980

Looking at an old thread giving Shadows tour dates from the 1980s, a few things leapt out at me. These three dates in August 1980, for example, intrigue me. These seem to be a few weeks before the Change of Address tour started and well after the spring tour of Europe. I've never really been aware of these before and wonder what the story is behind them. Warm up gigs? Festival appearances? I'd like to know. My first ever Shads gig was in Manchester 1980. A strong and brilliant memory to this day...

I saw them at Blazers 3 times in the early '80s, they played a single date there each year at around the same time. On each occasion that I saw them, it was a charity gig in support of the Eton Wick Youth Club. I recently found a "flyer" for the '82 concert - tickets were £8.00 each including a 3 course meal!

The Shadows promoted the "Change Of Address" album during this tour and played (in the UK in any case) seven tracks from it. I think it's one of their best albums from the Polydor period.
