It is with deepest regret and sadness that I have just heard that Roger has passed away. The family have asked for privacy at this very sad time. It will be a great shock to us all. Roger was one of the most accomplished Shadows exponents. He knew all there was to know about the guitars, amps and playing. This came through in the superb BT's he produced. Played and appreciated worldwide. My deepest condolences and love to Margaret and Chris.
Luigi.

Such sad news. I think I once met Roger at a Shadows fan meeting, though we had been in touch over the years. A man of his talents will certainly be much missed.
Condolences to the family and to his many friends in the UK and across the world.
It's certainly been a bad news day today so far.

Writing this on my father's account for simplicity. I intended to post this news later today after making some initial phonecalls to a few people and am shocked the news had already appeared here.
My Dad passed away in the early afternoon of New Year's eve. No funeral arrangements will be announced as this is what my father wanted.
I would like to keep things as private as possible while we grieve. Your understanding would be appreciated.

This is very very sad news indeed, particularly at this significant time of year.
I never met Roger but we kept in touch through this site and I bought every one of his outstanding CD's. His talent and expertise will be greatly missed by all as we lose yet another member of this much valued community.
My sincere condolences go out to his many friends and family.
Ian

More sad news. I knew Roger fairly well and met up with him at various club meets where he always performed impressively. He did some work on my AC15 and plumbed in one of his 'Vintage Units' for me exactly as I wanted it.
I have almost all of his well-produced backing cds which have served me well for my own recording efforts. He was actively working on these last year I believe.
A great loss to our community.
My sincere condolences to his family.
Keith

Such sad news.
I spoke to roger a couple of times on the 'phone a few years ago and purchased two of his EF86 units which I fitted myself to a AC30 and AC15. RIP.
Baz.

My deepest condolences to you and the family, this is terrible news.
I first met your father over twenty years ago when I purchased one of his vintage units for my ac30. He was a lovely man and a true gentleman. He will be greatly missed by the Shadows community.
Regards
Scott
