Words to Apache

When I purchased my first guitar in 1970 I inherited original sheet music for Apache. You know the type, one big piece of paper folded in half to make 4 pages, with the title on the cover and the Music printed on the other 3 pages. Well this one had an extra single sheet inside with a simpler version of Apache and words to go with the song. The words were not penned by the original song writer but by another American songwriter /singer.

About 20 years ago I lent it to a friend of mine who moved to another state and I haven't seen it since. So I was wondering if anyone has ever seen the words or may even have the words to Apache.

I don't have the printed words, but you can listen to Apache sung by Sonny James here
You can even listen to Apache sung in French by Orlando here

P.S.
Here is what I found on the net for the lyrics of Apache by Sonny James :

Sweet Apache maid
Lonely Silver Dove
Sweet Apache maid

Alone, all alone by the campfire
She dreamed of her love, her delight
Away, far away on the prairie
Her love Golden Hawk shared the night

Sometimes at night with the moon he would come
Sweet were the moments they shared
But with the dawn he was gone with the sun

A smoke sign arose from the prairie
A breeze sighed a sad mournful song
The brave Golden Hawk had departed
Had gone to that great, great beyond

Sometimes at night when there's rain in the sky
She hears her love high above
He and his pony go thundering by

There is a link in my previous message in this thread to listen to the French version by Orlando. Notice that Orlando is of Italian origin (like his much more famous sister "Dalida" who made a big career in France) and sings it in French, but with an strong Italian accent ! :D
