Cliff & Shads - Killarney Big Disappointment! (SPOILER)

Only joking!

Brief report straight from INEC in Killarney - I'm not going to give away any of the setlist - you'll have to go and see the show yourself!

Except to say that the guys are all looking very well - and playing brilliantly.

The setlist doesn't disappoint in any way.

Cliff, Bruce, Brian and Hank are joined by Mark, Warren and Keith Hayman.
Warren plays all sorts of instruments - including a bell!

Cliff not pompous at all (but then again Hank & Bruce will keep him in his box!!)

Couple of interesting things re gear

The shads playing JMI amps
Both Hank and Bruce have an assortment of guitars.
Bruce is certainly playing the original strat, and also his new Oasis strat, as well as a sunburst strat copy (I think it's a Mick Johnson creation)

Hank playing signature strats, two different acoustics (I couldnt make the brand out on either - I think the second acoustic may have been in some sort of open tuning? He also plays his 'Scotsman' strat - which the Scotsman presented to him on the Shads final tour - and, wait for it....a Burns Sunburst Apache 12 string! It's not his original burns - it has a tremolo - and also has 'HM' on it...

Interesting thing about the Scotsman strat is that it has newspaper headlines as 'decor' on the body - including one about Cliff being the ultimate UK pop star (or something to that effect)

So - giving nothing away on set list - you won't be disappointed!

Bernie

*switches to Queen Victoria accent* "We are not amused by the title of this thread" :o

But thanks for the inverted contents - I've got months to wait for the Melbourne February 2010 shows.

It's good to hear that the lads are having successful practice sessions up there in readiness for the real shows downunder

Thanks Bernie... great stuff! The comment I got from "behind the scenes" last night was "We got away with it!" Which just goes to show how "human" are our heroes and the people who support them...

Who is Keith Hayman?

Nice one Bernie, not too long until 9th Oct.

Is Keith Hayman Cliff's keyboard player?

David
Keith hayman is cliff's longtime musical director.
Just realised of course that the burns 12 string is greenburst and not sunburst.
They also had a number of cameras and big screens which will be great for the arenas.
Brian's new dw kit sounded terrific.

Thanks Bernie...

The Bruce "sunburst" is the refinished Mick Johnson replica of 34346, and one of the acoustics played by Hank is a Huss and Dalton, supplied by Oasis Music in Ringwood.
