Instro-Mentals at Burnham Guitar Club

Postby Martin Page » 03 Apr 2010, 07:56

This Tuesday, April 6th, my band, The Instro-Mentals will be playing a showcase set at the Burnham Guitar Club in Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex. Rather than just Shads' numbers we play a good mix of sixties' guitar instrumentals and the odd vocal. The club is run by The Instro-Mentals' drummer, Rick Fitz-Patrick. Burnham Guitar Club has been going now for about three years and although not publicised here on this site, it has gathered a good following via word-of-mouth. There will be ample opportunity for guitarists to play along to backing tracks and also with members of the Instro-Mentals. The club meeting is held at the Burnham Ramblers' Football Club on Springfield Road; doors open at 7:30 p.m., admission £2.

Yeah, hope to see you there Jim - long time no see.

A little bit of trivia: our rhythm and sometime lead player, Martin Donald was once guitarist with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. When he left the orchestra his replacement was the one-and-only Ernie Shear!

Regards, Martin.

Martin - you did an excellent set last night - I really enjoyed it.

I was also surprised when you said you hadn't had any recent rehearsals. It didn't show!!

Cheers
